Create a t-squared Fire

Often, a fire size and growth rate (Fast, Slow, etc. ‘alpha’ values) are prescribed, and the time to reach the peak Heat Release Rate per Unit Area (HRRPUA) based on the specified alpha value is unknown. In PyroSim, there is not a direct way to enter or select the alpha value for a t-squared fire to determine the time to reach the peak. This short video will show you how you can determine the time to peak HRRPUA, based on standard alpha values or a custom value you input, through a web based tool.

Please note, if you know the peak HRRPUA and the time in which you would like it to reach this peak, then you can enter the values directly into PyroSim.
