Pathfinder at People Movement and Management Show

In July of 2017, Thunderhead participated in the People Movement and Management Show held in Derby, UK. Our goal was to introduce Pathfinder to the people movement audience. Pathfinder was originally developed for emergency evacuation simulation as a companion product to PyroSim, our fire simulator. But we are adding features that will make it possible for Pathfinder to address more general people movement.

Our presentation is divided into two parts. Part 1 introduces basic concepts used in Pathfinder, including the movement model, how we describe the space on which occupants can walk, and how each person in the model is an agent that can make independent decisions. Part 2 gives examples of Pathfinder in action.
